Hand gesture recognition research aimed to reducing use mechanical components such as buttons, keyboard and mouse. Controlling the robot with hand gesture recognition expected to provide the convenience of users in robot control. This study creates a robot control system based on changes in the movement of the hand. Skin color selected by conversion HSV color arrangement from. Image moment function and center of mass function is determined midpoint of the object contours are created. 

Central point coordinates converted to be the robot instructions. DC motors and servo motors works on the robot according to computer’s wireless instructions. Serial data is obtained from the distance computation between hand coordinate and instruction coordinate. Optimal system occurs with the distance 10-70cm between the hands and camera, the maximum speed movement of the hands of 5cm/s, and between 499-1089 lux light intensity
