Identifikasi Lokasi Dengan Metode FIS Berbasis Arduino GPRS Shield

Nowadays, the development of technology and mobile applications are growing rapidly, especially for location-based services in which almost all smartphones and modern vehicles are already equipped with GPS to acquire location information that will be used for a variety of location-based services.

However, in acquiring location information, GPS systems have shortcomings in terms of the old satellite connection when the device starts up. However, GPS receivers cannot receive signals properly when in a room or at the time on hills and metropolitan areas. To overcome these problems, this study proposes an alternative approach to acquire the location information by using the parameters received signal strength Indicator (RSSI) of the GSM network. Then, this study develops a prototype using the GPRS Shield for Arduino and applied the method of Fuzzy Inference System Weight Centroid. The proposed prototype is evaluated in terms of the speed and accuracy. The result shows that the proposed prototype has a good reliability and accuracy compared to the other positioning methods in the identification of the location system. Finally, this research will be an alternative for a location identification system to be used for mobile tracking Automatic Vehicle Location system (VHL) quickly and accurately by using the GSM signal.
