Indirect lightning strike can induce transient overvoltage to electrical power system. In order to protect the electrical power system and improve its lightning performance, arresters are installed. The distance between arrester and the power transformer to be protected plays important role for the efficient protection of the equipment.

Dalam pengendalian kecepatan motor arus searah, model sistem bersifat nonlinier. Untuk menganalisa pola tingkah laku disekitar titik operasi, salah satu model sistem adalah dengan dilinierisasi di titik operasi. Dari model sistem yang dilinierisasi tersebut diperoleh fungsi alih motor arus searah dan dirancang pengendali (controller) H∞ melalui suatu simulasi dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak Matlab.
